Nieuwe diagnostische tool: SpiroFind nu beschikbaar

Ik zie dat sommigen beweren dat de SpiroFind test hetzelfde zou zijn als de LTT test. Volgens Boulder diagnostics is dat niet het geval. Ik citeer hieronder wat al eerder was aangehaald.

What is the Difference between the SpiroFind Test and an LTT Test?

The SpiroFind Test measures the specific trained response of the monocyte immune cells to an active borrelia infection. When these immune cells are exposed to an active infection, they will emit a cytokine protein signal during the SpiroFind assay. We quantify this signal over a range of concentrations of borrelia stimulus to make sure that we differentiate from unspecific high immune activity.

The LTT test, on the other hand, does not score a specific immune signal response. While the LTT test does expose the immune system to the borrelia organism, it then measures simply how those immune cells proliferate. This cell proliferation is not necessarliy a specific reaction to the borrelia. Therefore, the LTT test is generally not regarded as a specific test for Lyme borreliosis.

Omdat we verschillende berichten ontvangen hadden dat de nieuw ontwikkelde test van het Radboud een veel betere test zou zijn als alle tot op heden bestaande testen hebben wij een bloedonderzoek "Spirofind" bij Boulder Diagnostics laten doen.

Inmiddels uitslag gekregen van de de Spirofindtest, uit laten voeren als een soort 'contratest' omdat ik toch zeker wilde weten of de LTT test (positief op twee B.varianten) vanuit Berlijn bevestigd kon worden.

Zoals de bijlage laat zien is de uitslag negatief!! Geen sprake van lyme....! Ik wacht op een verklaring van Boulder Diagnostics hoe dit kan....

Heeft iemand op dit forum enige kennis/inzicht in deze resultaten...?

Enige voorlopige data worden getoond aan de ECCMID conferentie in Berlijn, Duitsland in april 2013.

Echter de klinische validatiestudie is niet eerder dan in 2014 te verwachten.



Voor die tijd kan de testuitslag dus niet gebruikt worden om conclusies aan te verbinden en is niet geschikt als leidraad voor klinische beslissingen, aangezien de test nog in de onderzoeksfase zit.

Dus voordat het zover zou kunnen zijn zitten we wel al weer in 2015 of misschien zelfs nog wel 2016

Verder is het altijd al een amerikaanse opzet geweest in een nederlands jasje?

Hopelijk wordt er niet nog een "slechte test" doorgedrukt, daar hebben we nu wel al onze buik van vol

The test measures immunological signs of early infection, compared to established tests that look for markers that develop after the infection has been present for a number of weeks.

Wat mij opvalt is dat het hier over een vroege infectie gaat. Toen ik destijds met mijn gezinsleden deze test liet doen, was deze niet specifiek bedoels voor vroege Lyme. Late Lyme kon er ook mee aangetoond worden.

Boulder liet mij indertijd weten dat 8% positief scoorde op deze test. Dan ben je nog beter met Elisa en Blot.
